Brittany Garcia is an independently contracted therapist who sees clients at Forward Family Therapy and brings with her over eight years of clinical experience. With a history of work in a wide variety of settings, including outpatient, residential, and acute treatment, Brittany has a comprehensive understanding of the full spectrum of mental health care.
Brittany graduated from the University of Colorado-Denver with an M.A. in Counseling, Couples and Families concentration. She has spent the majority of her career working with children, adolescents, and their families, with a focus on repairing child-parent relationships, increasing healthy communication, and establishing safety.
Utilizing her training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as well as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Brittany provides a safe space for her clients to develop their emotional tolerance, share their story, and process their traumatic experiences. Couples therapy is another specialty of Brittany’s, who believes that relationships can be difficult, but are essential to the human experience. Couples therapy involves a closer look at each individual’s past experiences and how that may impact partner interaction. Brittany will work with you to improve relationship satisfaction by overcoming emotional distance, dealing with issues of mistrust, and preventing negative cycles from taking over the relationship.
Brittany believes we can heal through our relationships, and has a passion for connecting with others and helping them to navigate difficult times. She also believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship and places a high value on clients feeling comfortable with their therapist. Her open-mindedness, humor, and genuine desire to understand her clients’ world all help clients feel at ease right away.
At this time, Brittany sees clients at Forward Family Therapy on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, and her rate is $110 per session. She currently accepts self-pay, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Victim’s Compensation. Brittany can be reached directly at (720) 583-4539 or [email protected]
